My daddy drove a Challenger

about

I wrote this song after i saw that wonderful commercial that was celebrating 100 years of Dodge. I must confess that i love this car and the commercial with all that old guys was really wonderful. So, a little later i was sitting there with my guitar, singing "My daddy drove a Challenger" and that´s how the song was born.

As i started to work on that song, it had that nice touch of that wonderful old soul-records. Sam and Dave ... Wilson Pickett ... but when you do a song about a "bad car for the bad boys and girls" ... well, it just went to that very different sound it has now. I think, it was a good decision. Enjoy it!

By the way: I must confess, that my dad never had a Dodge but it would have been cool, haha. :-)

lyrics

My daddy drove a Challenger. Man that guy was bad.
My daddy drove a Challenger. Man that guy was bad.
My daddy drove a big, bad Dodge and he drove the Sheriff mad.

My daddy drove a Challenger, spitting fire down the road.
My old man drove a Challenger, spitting fire down the road.
They could never take his freedom, they could never take his soul.

My daddy drove a Challenger. And his son is just the same.
My daddy drove a Challenger. And his son is just the same.
All it takes to make me happy is a Dodge and Gasoline.
